Chelsea will have to pay Manchester United a set fee of around £5 million if they fail to sign the winger Jadon Sancho, according to reports in the UK Media.

Sancho joined Chelsea in the Summer of 2024 on an initial loan with an obligation to buy deal for £25 million in Summer 2025.

However, after a season where the former Borussia Dortmund forward has failed to impress, it seems they are having a change of heart.

According to the Athletic, Chelsea will have to pay Manchester United £5 million ($6.4 million) if they do not complete the signing of winger Jadon Sancho permanently.

Sancho moved to Stamford Bridge last summer on a season-long loan deal after a tumultuous time at Old Trafford where he fell out with former manager Erik Ten Hag and was initially frozen out of the first-team squad before eventually being allowed to leave the club.

"As part of the agreement it was decided that Chelsea could opt against proceeding with the full transfer by giving Manchester United a set fee," the report states.

So far this season, Sancho has scored two Premier League goals and has four assists for fourth-placed Chelsea as they chase a Champions League spot.
